Osaka Game Day--August 4th, 2013

On the first Sunday of August we invite you to join us in Osaka for some board games, card games and miniature games.  Our August game day will be held at the Naniwa Kumin Center on August 4th, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM.  Bring whatever games that you would like to play with your or play the games that we'll have available (more than you can count!).

There will be a small fee to cover the rental of the space of just a few hundred yen.  This month our usual drinks and snacks organizer is out of town, so bring whatever snacks or drinks you would like to have with you.  There is also a small convenience store across the road.  However, there aren't really any restaurants nearby.  It might be a good idea to pack a lunch with you.

Osaka Game Day: July 7th, 2013

It's that time of month again.  Join us for board games, card games and more on July 7th, 2013.  Our game day will be held at the Naniwa Kumin Center from 9:30 A.M. to 9:30 P.M.  Twelve hours of non-stop gaming!  We'll be playing some game prototypes and designs created by our own members.  In addition, popular games such as Netrunner, A Game of Thrones, Merchants of Venus and many more will be available to play.  For more information, please click here.

Osaka Game Day: April 7th, 2013

Join us on April 7th, 2013 for board games, card games and RPGs.  The Osaka Game Day will be held from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM at the Naniwa Kumin Center (near Sakuragawa Station on the Osaka Subway).  We're expecting a lot of new Japanese members this time, so we're going to focus on shorter games.  We'd love for you to join us.  Come and meet some new people and play a few games, for a few hours or all day.  We're looking forward to seeing you there.  There will be a small fee of 500 yen to cover the cost of drinks, snacks and venue rental.

Osaka Game Market 2013

JIGG Kansai will be appearing at this year's Osaka Game Market.  What is Osaka Game Market?  It's an event where game publishers and retailers promote and sell their games.  Most Japanese publishers and many Japanese designers appear at this event.  For example, at last year's Game Market we had a chance to meet Seiji Kanai, the designer of the recent hit game "Love Letter".  In addition, many independent game designers are showing off their hand-made games, so there is a good chance to pick up something new and unique at this event.

Osaka Game Market 2013 will be held at the Osaka Merchandise Mart (OMM) on March 10th from 10 AM to 5 PM.  It will be held in Halls B and C on the second floor.  OMM is close to Tenmabashi Station.  The entrance fee for the event in 1000 yen.

JIGG Kansai will be at booth 14.  As a part of our booth, we have two play tables, so join us to play a few games.  We're looking forward to seeing you there.

Upcoming Game Days

We have two big game days coming up within the next month!  Here they are:

Osaka Game Day--March 3rd, 2013:  will be held from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM at the Naniwa Kumin Center (near Sakuragawa Station on the Osaka Subway).  The theme for the day is two-player games.  However, there will be a variety of multi-player games available to play as well.  If you arrive at the beginning of the day, you may have a chance to join a game of Battlestar Galactica--a board game of betrayal and intrigue in humanity's darkest hour.  There will be a fee of 500 yen to cover venue rental, snacks and drinks.


Kobe Game Day--April 1st, 2013:  will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Higashinada Kumin Center Small Hall (near Uozaki Station on the Hanshin Line).  This is not an April Fool's joke!  A wide variety of board games, card games and mind games will be available to play.  There will be a small fee of 500-700 yen (depending on the number of people who come) to cover venue rental, snacks and drinks.

Osaka Game Day: February 3rd, 2013

It's time for another awesome day of gaming.  We'll be holding an Osaka Game Day on February 3rd, 2013.  It will be held at the Naniwa Kumin Center from 9:30AM to 9:30PM.  We'll have a wide variety of board games, card games, and miniatures games available for you to play.  This event is open to the public, so bring along your friends!  There is a small fee of 500 yen, which covers drinks and snacks.
